The Dowagiac Boy JV football team opened their season with a 48-12 victory over the Vicksburg Bulldogs in Vicksburg. Offensively the chieftains moved the ball well. Dashawn Brooks had 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion, Timmy Howard had 2 touchdowns, and Deondre Henry also had 2 touchdowns. Hunter Williamson and Alex McIntosh both had 2 point conversions. The Other score came from Nate Davis on a defensive Strip that he returned for a 30 yard touchdown. Defensively the chieftains were all over the place causing multiple turnovers. Tajaun Reed had 2 Interceptions and a fumble recovery, Nate Davis a Fumble recovery, Dashawn Brooks an Interception. Leading the defense in tackles were Lamberto Peredes and Hunter Williamson. The Chieftains travel to Three Rivers next Wednesday to play the Wild Cats.
